Apple is now restricting ad blockers and ad filters available in the app store, according to Apple Insiders. Even though 308 million people have some type of content blocker or filter on their phones, Apple’s new policy targets apps that block or filter ads in other apps — keeping users from controlling their ad experience and possibly attempting to increase Apple’s revenue from the ads in users’ apps.
Although Apple’s new policy presents a roadblock for these kinds of apps, new apps like AdSwapper have found a way around it. AdSwapper, an app that filters ads and pays users for the ads they see in apps and on websites, is formatted as a web app, circumventing the Apple app store entirely.
“We originally thought about developing a traditional iPhone app,” AdSwapper Founder Amos Angelovici said. “However, after learning about Apple’s stance on adblockers, we created AdSwapper as a web app so Apple can’t prevent our users from getting paid for the ads they see in apps — not only on websites.”
Web apps function similarly to traditional apps on users’ phones, even having an app icon on your home screen. However, users install a web app differently than they would a traditional app.
“We believe that users deserve to get paid for their time and attention,” Angelovici said. “We know installing a web app like AdSwapper is a new concept for many users, so we stay true to our mission by giving each user 50 points toward their first gift card as compensation for installing the app.”

Do you want to get paid for the hundreds of ads you see in apps and on websites?
AdSwapper is a free web app that filters the ads on your phone like an ad blocker and lets through only the ads that pay you. AdSwapper acts like your agent by collecting your share of the money from advertisers. On average, you can earn five to ten dollars per month while using your phone as usual — no need to go to any special website and AdSwapper doesn’t show you any extra ads. Once you reach five dollars, you can cash out at any time for an e-gift card or PayPal payment.
